The Goretti Group Gazette January, 2008 By Chris Morales With your help, we reached over 20,000 people with the message of love and life in 2007. We did this through our retreats and seminars held in confirmation classes, parochial schools and youth conferences all over the nation. We also answered Pope John Paul II's call to use media to spread the gospel. Speaker Rocky Rhoades appeared on the Eternal Word Television Network. Other speakers were on several radio shows on the West and East coast including Catholic Answers, Guadalupe Radio, The Message of Our Lady of Fatima, Holy Spirit Radio and in Spanish on Hombre Nuevo radio. We were also in diocesan and national newspapers such as the Southern Cross and the National Catholic Register respectively. In addition, we produced a new DVD to reach.... |

Teen Talk: The Challenge of Virginity By Amanda Murphy Sex. Let's face it, it's a pretty big deal. Being a 16-year-old junior in high school I can't help but say it's a big deal. Being a teenager is already hard enough, and the issues of sex just adds right onto all the stress. And the truth is it's only getting worse. Now a days girls are loosing "it" younger and younger and it seems to be the topic of the hour, every hour. So how can you stay away from the temptations of sex, because everyone is doing it right? For me, the easiest way to stay away from sex is to remember why I am a virgin. Being a virgin to me means being clean, pure, and honest to not only my body but heart and soul as well. But not only am I being true to myself, I'm also being true to my future husband. I know the greatest gift I can give him is my clean, pure, and honest body. And I know the only way to keep my body pure is to stay faithful to my virginity until I'm married. Take it first hand, being in high school and staying a virgin is tough, but there are ways to make it easier. First, don't choose .... |

ESTAR ENAMORADO O AMAR? By Kathya Canale Hace unos dias vi una pelicula titulada "Madre a los 16", muy buena por cierto, ya se imaginan cual era el argumento verdad? Tipica adolescente enamorada a quien su novio le pide la famosa "prueba de amor" y ella accede y claro, queda embarasada aun usando diferentes metodos anticonceptivos porque ya se sabe que ninguno de ellos es efectivo al 100 %. Quedar embarazados (porque tanto hombre como mujer ponene de su parte) a los 16, 18 o antes de casarse sin importar la edad, es una historia triste, principalmente porque se trata de embarazos no deseados. Son muchas las causas por las que se tienen relaciones intimas y por tanto la posibilidad de embarazos prematuros y no deseados: placer, temor, soledad,..... |

Theology of the Body for Teens The Goretti Group has begun a new training program using a recently released curriculum called Theology of the Body for Teens: Discovering God's Plan For Love & Life by Jason Evert, Brian Butler, Crystalina Evert, and Christopher West. Materials include a study guide for teens and a leaders guide, to be used for study in the home, parish, school, or youth group. |
